Stop Letting Idiots Off the Hook

I am like the annoying little kid in the movie ‘The Sixth Sense’. The main difference is that where he saw dead people I see stupid people. They haunt me daily and it really gets to me. But today as I was witnessing some really intense stupidity I wondered ‘Why do I let people get away with doing stupid things’. Does it not make more sense to scold stupid people so that they will learn to not be stupid?

How  greivous does an act of stupidity have to be in order for you to actually confront someone and try to correct them? Personally, I am very non-confrontational and I let people get away with extremely stupid things. Do me a favor and watch this video and then tell me how you would have handled the situation. I feel like I should have said something but I didn’t.

Oh man, this site isn't largest enough to host all my complaints about stupid people. But let me just vent a little please? Why do people talk so loud on their cell phones? Is no place sacred for these morons? I have heard conversations about bodily functions I didn't even know were possible, in the packed elevator of my office builing. Don't they care that their are people around them listening to their every word? I am convinced they are exhibitionist and this is their way of getting gratification. Thanks for the soapbox, I feel a little better.

Kevin - Holy crap yes! They are like "Oh wait, this costs money?" I think instead of hoping to witness a painful incident we need to start creating painful incidents.

Julie - Your system has been implemented at the Rockefeller Center Dunkin Donuts and it doesn't work. The cashier is god and she rings people up like crazy and just shouts the order to the guy making coffee. But he can't keep up and he will forget what you ordered. Then you end up with 10 people standing there fuming wondering when they will get their order...and when they get it will it be what they asked for....no.

Charlotte - I wish I had balls enough to do that but I am able to admit that I do not. It was Family Guy in the background.

Next time, just step right up to the counter and say to the clerk, "While their trying to get it together, I'd like a ..." More often than not they'll serve you right away. It works since the clerk is usually just as pissed off at the idiot as you are.

The idiot, of course, catches an attitude with me. They don't realize that their opinion doesn't matter. Must be a hard life for them.

    Fuck'em, they're idiots.

(I am compelled to figure out what I hear in the background. A western on the TV?)

I always wonder why the person serving the coffee doesn't realize that there's going to be a delay and move on to the next person, grabbing their coffee & bagel while the woman finishes deciding what she wants for her coworkers!

Of course, I'm saying this about people at coffee shops and I've watched them ring up a customer before me and give them change wearing their "sanitary gloves" and then go to grab for the pastry wearing those very same gloves - eeeeewwwww! Money changes so many hands and carries more germs than we can imagine! I've actually refused the pastry when I've see this happen!

The thing that pisses me off in long lines is the idiot that waits until the cashier tells them the price before they reach for their wallet or purse. What have they been doing the five minutes they've been in line? I want to scream,"This part is unexpected?". But, I don't say anything, I just stand there hoping I'm able to witness some painful incident in their life
